About Me

Debbie Soukaseum

Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist

I’ve always been drawn to helping others, health sciences, and art, which are at the heart of my approach to massages.  With each massage I blend the theory and techniques of a variety of massage modalities, kinesiology, anatomy & physiology to an artful flow that matches each person’s natural rhythm.  I enjoy being able to empower my clients to connect with their mind/body and continue their healing journey throughout their everyday lives.

In 2018, I obtained my Massage & Bodywork licensure from Center for Massage and Natural Health 600 hour program in Asheville, NC.  My education includes Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Pregnancy and Geriatric Massage, Oncology Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Hydrotherapy, Spa Treatment, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy, Chair Massage, Shiatsu, Integrative Massage, and Energy-Base work.  As I continue to craft my art through continued education, workshops, and training, there is always something new to discover at Souk Jai.

I graduated from Hamline University with a focus in Biology and Anthropology.  Then, went on to join AmeriCorps where I serve the refugee community in Durham, NC.  Working in group homes while in college sparked my love to work with people with special needs which developed into a career for 13 years.  It's a privilege to share the power of touch with all abilities.  It wasn’t until my work with Duke University research on a holistic approach to healthcare that changed my mindset of what healthcare could be, and that inspired me to make the career shift and pursue massage therapy as a healing art.

In my free time, I enjoy worshiping my cat, Monket, craft projects, good movies, gardening, museums, yoga, and exploring yummy foods with my life-partner, Luke.
